Orange Belt USBC Bowling Association - Rules & Regulations


 

By-Laws of the Orange Belt USBC Association

 

PURPOSE

This organization is formed for the purpose of uniting in a
central organization, all members of qualified bowling teams,
leagues and unattached individuals bowling in certified bowling
establishments located in the Orange Belt USBC area. This
area includes Polk, Highlands and Hardee Counties. This also
includes bowlers residing in Hillsborough County bowling in
Orange Belt Bowling Centers.

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors shall consist of the following Line
officers: President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President,
3rd Vice President, 4th Vice President, Manager, Sergeant-at-
Arms and the immediate Past President. In addition to the
above Officers, the Board shall also consist of (18) Directors
representing the leagues in each certified establishment, of
which six (5) are elected by the Youth Committee.


ELECTION AND TERMS OF OFFICE

The election of officers and directors shall be held at the
annual April meeting and elections shall be for specific offices.
A Board member must be a member in good standing of the
Orange Belt USBC Association, Inc. The Office of President
can only be filled by a line officer or past line officer. The
President shall serve no more than two consecutive terms. All
line officer candidates shall have served at least one full year
as a Director of the Orange Belt USBC.
The Terms of Office shall be as follows:

Sgt-At-Arms.............................Two Years
Director..................................... Two Years
All Officers and Directors terms are effective on August 1
following election. A candidate for Manager must be selected
and approved by the Board.

 

COMMITTEES

The President shall appoint all committees and members
of the committee.

 

YEARBOOK

The Association shall publish an alphabetical list of each
bowler who has bowled at least 21 games in each league in
which they participated during regular winter season. All
averages must be submitted at the end of the league schedule.
The Manager will maintain a list of those bowlers who participated
in 21 games or more in a summer league who had no
official average in the winter season.

 

ANNUAL MEETING

An Annual Meeting of Association members/Youth representatives
shall be held at a time and place approved by the
Board of Directors.

 

DUTIES OF OFFICERS

PRESIDENT - The President shall perform those duties
specified in the USBC Local Association Constitution.


VICE PRESIDENTS - In the absence of the President,
they shall perform that duty in numerical order, ie: 1stVP, 2nd
VP, 3rd VP and 4th VP. They will be in charge of the Directors
of two (2) Bowling Centers and the various committees that
are assigned to those Directors.


MANAGER - The Manager shall perform those duties
specified in the USBC Local Association Constitution such as
the following: Assist in the printing of the annual yearbook,
keep all records of the meetings of the Board, conduct all
correspondence of the Association, keep an inventory of all
property belonging to the Association and an accurate record
of location of such property. Serve as Tournament Director
for the Annual Tournament and the Tournament of Officers.
If unable to perform these duties, the Board of Directors
shall appoint a Tournament Director. The Manager shall
perform those duties specified in the USBC Local Association
Constitution such as the following: Maintain an account of
all receipts and disbursements and be prepared to present a
report of all financial transactions of the Association for the
previous year at the current Fall meeting. A detailed report
of all disbursements shall be furnished the President and the
Board. Association funds, with the exception of petty cash
expenditures shall be disbursed by voucher type check with a
copy of the same being furnished to the President. All checks
disbursed shall be signed by the Manager and President or
others so designated.


MEMBERSHIP DUES

This Association shall operate under the individual membership
plan. The annual adult membership dues shall be
$18.00, which includes USBC dues of $10.00, Association
dues of $8.00, and an optional $1.00 dues to the Florida
Womens Bowling Association. The Association shall collect
its portion of the dues ($8.00) from members of other
Associations who are bowling in Orange Belt USBC sanctioned
bowling leagues.
The annual youth membership dues shall be $17.00,
which includes USBC dues of $14,50, Association dues of
$2.00 and State Association dues of $0.50.
Sport Bowling Dues; Adults $33.00 ($15.00 Sport plus
$18.00 Standard), Youth $27.00 ($10.00 Sport plus $17.00
Standard), plus local dues, Adult $8.00, Youth $2.00.
Summer Leagues - A regular season’s membership card
(issued for the season August 1st to July 31st) is valid in the
summer leagues.
A non USBC member shall pay USBC and local
Association dues and upon payment of such dues, shall
become a member for the balance of the current summer season
and the next winter season.

 

ANNUAL TOURNAMENT

The Association shall hold an Annual Tournament. The
tournament shall begin the last two week in February and first
weekend in March, unless otherwise specified by the Board of
Directors. The number of weekends required to conduct the
tournament shall be determined by the Tournament Director.

 

HALL OF FAME

The Orange Belt USBC Association, Inc. shall maintain
a local Hall of Fame under the administration of the Board of
Directors.
