PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization is to honor, pay tribute to, and perpetuate the names of those who have contributed to the growth and welfare of the great game of bowling by their bowling ability and/or through meritorious service in the Orange Belt USBC Association.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the Hall of Fame shall be determined as described herein.
HALL OF FAME BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Hall of Fame Board of Directors shall be the Line Officers, three senior ranked Directors, (by time on the board), actual Past President, and active Hall of Fame Members. This Board shall have full control over the Hall of Fame. They shall supervise the Hall of Fame in such manner as to assure a living active organization serving the purpose for which it is organized until such time that the Hall of Fame organization is able to govern itself as a separate entity.
OFFICERS
The officers of the Hall of Fame shall be:
- Chairman..................... Elected by the Hall of Fame Board of Directors
- Vice Chairman............ The President of Orange Belt USBC Members Four Hall of Fame members
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for candidacy to the Hall of Fame, a bowler must be or have been a resident of the Orange Belt USBC Association area and be a member in good standing of the Orange Belt USBC Association for at least fifteen (15) years. Posthumous nominees must have ten (10) years.
A candidate must:
a) Have bowled in at least ten annual Orange Belt Tournaments,
b) Have good bowling repute and sportsmanship, and
c) Must meet one qualification of the following categories:
MERITORIOUS SERVICE:
A. Leadership - a candidate must have been a league or association member for at least ten (10) years.
B. Achievement - a candidate must have given
outstanding service to the game of bowling for at least fifteen (15) years.
BOWLING ABILITY:
A. Maintained an average of 200 or higher for at least seven (7) years.
B. Must bowl a single game of 289 or higher or a three game series of 750 or higher.
NOMINATIONS
Nomination forms must be filled out and mailed to the Association Manager by January 1st.
ELECTORS
The board of directors and living members of the Hall of Fame shall be the electors, provided that each are active in the association. Each elector shall have one (1) vote in each category.
BALLOTING
Balloting shall be by written sealed ballots and shall be turned in to the Secretary by the final day of the annual Orange Belt Association Tournament.
ELECTIONS
In order to be elected a nominee must receive two-thirds (2/3) of the votes. A nominee if not elected, shall automatically be considered by the selection committee for the next year only.
AWARDS
Each member shall received a plaque designating their membership. These awards shall be presented to the member or a member of their family at the Annual Banquet.
A plaque with the names of the Hall of Fame members shall be placed in each bowling establishment.
EXPENSES
The operating expenses of the Hall of Fame shall be paid by the Orange Belt USBC.
AMENDMENTS
These By-laws may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Board of Directors. Proposals must be submitted to the Chairman at least thirty days prior to a Orange Belt USBC Association Meeting.
